Where this sits against your legal duties
The Health and Safety at Work Act 2015 puts a primary duty of care on the business, not on the training provider. Online induction training is one control among several, and it does not on its own discharge that duty. What it does is give every worker the same baseline, and leave you with a record showing when they got it.
Manual handling is worth treating as a risk in its own right rather than folding it into a general induction. Training also sits below design in the hierarchy of controls, so the task, the racking, the trolley and the shift pattern get looked at first. A course teaching safe technique is doing its job once those have been dealt with.

How long do the two take?
Both are short and self-paced. Most people finish the pair inside a couple of hours, and progress is saved so it can be split across sittings.
Is there a certificate?
Yes, one for each course, downloadable as a PDF on completion.
Does this meet our induction requirement?
It covers the training part of an induction and leaves you a record of it. Site-specific hazards, emergency procedures and your own systems still need to be covered on site, because no online course can know your floor.
Does it carry NZQA credits?
No. These are induction and refresher level courses aligned to the Health and Safety at Work Act 2015, not unit standards.
